About

Established in 2013 as the first CrossFit gym in Northeast Washington, D.C., Old City CrossFit has spent over a decade building a robust, inclusive fitness community in the vibrant H Street Corridor. We reject the generic, one-size-fits-all model of modern fitness, choosing instead to tailor every workout to our members' unique goals, schedules, and structural limitations. Our facility offers three distinct pathways to long-term physical success: high-energy group training, a hybrid individualized program with dedicated coach check-ins and open gym autonomy, and premium one-on-one personal training. Our highly experienced, certified coaches are committed to guiding you safely, whether you are a competitive athlete or stepping into a strength facility for the very first time. At Old City CrossFit, we guarantee supportive coaching, transparent expectations, and a warm neighborhood environment that values personal progress over comparison.

Training philosophy

Approach

We build strong bodies and resilient minds by adapting workouts to individual physiology. Our coaches believe that true functional longevity comes from consistency, progressive strain, and mutual support rather than competitive vanity.

Methodology

We deliver a hybrid system combining high-intensity metabolic training (CrossFit), low-impact steady state cardio (Engine), and structured strength work (Muscle Lab) to cover all bases of physical wellness.

Progression

Our progression pathway relies on customized movement screens, consistent coach scaling, and periodic program adjustments. As your physical capacity and confidence grow, load and movement variations are incrementally increased.
