"I joined J13 in January 2024 and wish I’d done it sooner! After nearly 10 years of being a regular member of a ‘high street’ gym, I struggled to find a routine after returning to full time work from maternity leave. "I started coming to J13 in February 2023. I was very nervous about going back to the gym after recovering from a health issue in 2021/22 so I spoke to Rob about my goals & experience, and started on the trial course. Rob was so welcoming and made me feel at ease on my first day. He took everything into account, and made sure I was comfortable with all the different movements, he took the time to understand my capabilities, and helped me get to grips with it all. After the trial, I started going to the group sessions 1-2 times a week, and now 2 years later I'm in the gym 4-5 times a week. Both Rob & Michelle make the gym a safe and fun place to train. It's a joy to see them, learn from their expertise, meet lots of other people, and get fit. The community at J13 is probably one of the best things about it, everyone is lovely and supportive, and you see such a range of people coming that you don't feel intimidated. The group sessions are very flexible and we get a teaser each week on what the workout of the day will look like. Sometimes it's a mix of barbell, bodyweight, or cardio, so there's something for everyone. You can also scale the movements or swap them for something else if you struggle with it. We focus heavily on technical proficiency. All classes are capped at sizes that allow our coaches to personally guide, cue, and safely adapt movements to suit each person's exact structural capability.
We establish a safe foundation through specialized On Ramp programs. From there, members progress systematically using scalable workout templates and coached weight progressions, celebrating consistent physical milestones.
Arrive 10 to 15 minutes before your scheduled class time. Coach Rob, Michelle, or Shiv will welcome you, introduce you to our facility, discuss your goals, and walk you through safety guidelines before we start.
Bring comfortable training wear, flat-soled or hybrid athletic shoes, a water bottle, and a personal sweat towel.
Each session lasts exactly 60 minutes. We begin with a customized, coach-led warm-up and mobility sequence, followed by strength skill instruction, the core daily conditioning workout (WOD), and a relaxing structural cool-down stretch.
