CrossFit 8035 is located in the beautiful, rapidly expanding suburb of Grimes, Iowa, sitting conveniently along the border of Johnston. The surrounding area features excellent suburban amenities, parks, and direct transit corridors making it very easy to get to from anywhere in the Des Moines metropolitan area.
While primary transit is by car, local highway exits connect the facility immediately to major commuter arterial roads.
Ample free private parking is available in the dedicated commercial lot directly in front of the main gym entrance.
We view fitness as an essential vehicle for lifelong health, physical capability, and community connection. Our approach centers on delivering fun, functional, and varied workouts that challenge the body while protecting joint longevity.
We focus deeply on movement quality, mechanic consistency, and then intensity. By teaching athletes proper movement patterns first, we build a foundation that prevents injury and secures steady progress.
Athletes are encouraged to progress safely at their own pace using structured periodic benchmarks (such as our local run cycles and weightlifting re-tests) to visually track performance gains over time.
Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes before your scheduled class. You will be greeted warmly by one of our co-owners or coaches, given a brief facility tour, and we will walk you through how we will scale the day's workout to fit you perfectly.
We recommend comfortable athletic clothing, flat-soled training shoes (ideal for lifting and jumping), and a personal water bottle. Hand towels are optional.
A standard session lasts exactly one hour. It begins with a 10-minute dynamic warm-up, a 15-minute skill or lifting progression, a 20-to-30 minute functional Workout of the Day (WOD), and a 5-minute cool-down.
An annual internal competition combining row cycles, stationary biking, and running, bringing our community together to test endurance limits.
