






Welcome to Basic Gym Kristianstad AB, the city's very first affiliated CrossFit and HYROX box, established in 2011 by Christina and Jonas Carlström. Our training philosophy focuses entirely on functional movements where the whole body is activated to deliver real, lasting results. We prioritize proper technique above all else, ensuring each member gets professional guidance and feedback during every workout. Unlike traditional gyms, our facility is purposefully free of conventional weight machines, offering instead an outstanding range of barbells, kettlebells, dumbbells, heavy ropes, medicinballs, and rowers. Our supportive community welcomes everyone, with fully scalable classes that allow beginners and elite athletes to train side-by-side in a positive, anti-doping certified environment.

Jonas has worked full-time in the fitness industry since 1998. He is one of only 17 Certified CrossFit Trainers (Level 3) in Sweden, specializing in longevity, functional movement, and scaling workouts.

Our premium group session starting with a focused dynamic warm-up and flexibility sequence. Members then proceed to strength or skill development before tackling the intensive metcon (metabolic conditioning) workout.
Objective: Strength, Gymnastics & Conditioning
A high-energy functional class focusing on bodyweight and accessible fitness equipment. Classes are structured around circuit training, Tabata intervals, and AMRAP challenges to boost cardiorespiratory conditioning.

A specialized preparation session targeting physical conditioning mimicking official HYROX formats. Incorporates rowing intervals, dumbbell carries, wall balls, and high-repetition bodyweight functional movements.

Located on Arenavägen in Kristianstad right beside the local Arena, the box sits in a vibrant sport-focused neighborhood with an excellent athletic atmosphere and high accessibility.

We strictly emphasize quality over speed. Our professional coaches are constantly observing, educating, and offering feedback to maximize training utility and safety.
We teach fundamental mechanics first, build consistency in performance, and only then introduce intensity and heavier loads once movement is perfected.
Arrive 15 minutes early to meet your coach. If you do not have an access tag, make sure to arrive within 30 minutes of a scheduled class start time so the gym doors are unlocked. The coach will give you a brief orientation of the box.
Clean indoor training shoes, comfortable athletic clothing, a personal water bottle, and a small towel for sweat.
Each session lasts exactly 60 minutes, starting with a functional warm-up and mobility exercises, followed by a dedicated strength or technical skill block, culminating in an intensive Workout of the Day (WOD) and stretching.
Led by level 3 coach Jonas Carlström, this informative event covers the fundamentals of CrossFit, debunks common myths, explains scaling, and concludes with a trial workout.
Jonas has worked as a full-time fitness professional for over two decades. He is one of the highly elite Level 3 CrossFit coaches in Sweden, dedicated to helping individuals build sustainable structural strength and longevity.
